This is sad
I've been to Eastern Market a couple of times and while I didn't fall in love with it, I understand that a lot of people in the neighborhood love it. Evidently, part of the market has burned down over the weekend. Luckily no one was hurt.
I was so sad about this. Eastern Market has been part of my weekend routine since my first year in college in DC. As I sat at my computer reading the story about Eastern Market yesterday, I was eating an orange I had picked up from there the day before! I will sincerely miss that place- and can't wait for it to be back and running again. In the meantime, I'm planning on visiting and showing my support to the vendors who are left this weekend on Sunday if anyone wants to join!
